The Salomon HPS - Salomon x Asmo 157 Snowboard was shaped by modern snowboarding pioneer Wolfgang Nyvelt, and is inspired by his love of the sport and all things big mountain. Crafted with nimble edge-to-edge control and built with a Ghost Green Core for power and stability through major sends -- the Salomon HPS - Salomon x Aesmo 157 Snowboard was crafted for fellow powder hounds. Made in only one size, so you can saddle up and stomp a line for the ages.
Rocker Type
Backseat Camber – Camber under your back foot and a flat section at the nose, coupled with rocker at the tip and tail lends you maximum control for carving on groomers and a surf-like feel in powder.
Flex
Responsive Flex – A stiffer flex helps connect you with your board. It's stiffness allows for quicker turns, easier edge hold and impressive stability at speed.
Shape
Tapered Directional – The tail width is slightly tapered (10-15 mm). This loosens up turning initiation and improves flotation in deeper snow without sacrificing edge hold on hardpack.
Quadratic Sidecut – A blend of elliptic curves for easy turn initiation, effortless direction changes and fluid edge to edge transitions.
Core
Ghost Green Core – The Ghost Green core components have been selected to optimize pop and reduce weight with super light paulownia wood.
Popster – Maximize the natural snap and powerful pop of wood with Popster's shaped core profile. Feels like your skateboard kicktail finally connected with your snowboard.
Laminates
Biax MD – Medium density European-made fiberglass layers guarantee a consistent quality level, for light and lively boards.
Sidewalls
ABS Sidewalls – Salomon's Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene is a mouthful, so Salomon calls it ABS, the best material for sidewalls. The molecular structure can be described as a concrete bar with rubber nuggets inside, combining toughness for energy transfer and dampening properties for impact absorption.
Base
Sintered EG – Engineered for a super fast glide in everything from fresh pow to sticky spring snow. Sintered material provides superior wax retention, Gallium strengthens impact resistance, and the Electra finish gives a turbocharged glide.
Fine Stone Finish – Speed up in powder or softer snow conditions.
Edges
Walnut Wrapper
All-Mountain Edge Bevel – A 1° edge holding tune throughout the key parts of the sidecut meets a 2° bevel between the feet. This delivers the most solid edge hold with no hang-ups.
